Nigerian Singer Omah Lay Reflects on Heartbreak during Album Listening Party

Nigerian artist Omah Lay shared details of a recent heartbreak during a listening party for his upcoming album, Clarity Of Mind. The singer revealed that the relationship lasted just two months, despite its promising start.

At the event, Omah Lay explained that he perceived the relationship as serious and even envisioned starting a family with his partner. However, their breakup occurred unexpectedly while he attended the Grammy Awards in early February.

“Every time I fall in love, I lose myself,” Omah Lay remarked. He recounted a particularly challenging moment during the Grammys when he was dealing with relationship issues while Justin Bieber performed. “I wasn’t present at the Grammys. I didn’t enjoy anything,” he added.

He also shared his struggle to balance personal relationships with his music career. This conflict inspired his song “Don’t Love Me.”

“I don’t know how to do two things at once. When I focus on something, I invest all of myself into it,” he said. Omah Lay further explained that the message behind “Don’t Love Me” conveys a sense of fleeting enjoyment in relationships, emphasizing the difficulty of maintaining focus amid personal and professional commitments.
