‘I ask my married female colleagues for permission before touching them’ – Uzor Arukwe

Nollywood Actor Addresses Criticism Over Romantic Roles
Uzor Arukwe, a prominent figure in Nollywood, has responded to recent criticisms regarding his portrayal of romantic roles alongside married actresses, particularly Bambam, his on-screen love interest in the film “Love In Every Word.”
In a recent interview with BBC Igbo, Arukwe emphasized the importance of obtaining consent from his female co-stars before any physical contact during filming. He noted that this practice is especially critical when working with married actresses, as he aims to prevent any potential issues in their personal lives stemming from their roles.
Arukwe clarified that he had not previously met Bambam nor established a relationship with her prior to their collaboration on the film.
“Before filming, I always consult with my co-lead actors to ensure that they are comfortable with any physical interactions, particularly those who are married,” Arukwe stated. “I do this to ensure they do not face any difficulties at home.”
