Wayne Rooney Advocates for Michael Carrick as Next Manchester United Manager
Manchester United great Wayne Rooney has expressed his support for Michael Carrick to be appointed as the club’s next permanent manager. Carrick is currently serving as caretaker manager for the remainder of the season, following a series of recent managerial changes at the club.
Rooney, who played alongside Carrick during their time at Manchester United, voiced his opinion after the team’s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday. He emphasized his belief that Carrick is well-suited for the role, citing their long-standing relationship and his understanding of Carrick’s character and capabilities.
“He has the best winning percentage,” Rooney commented, reinforcing his stance. “For me, he has to get the job.”
Manchester United is expected to announce their new permanent manager at the end of the season as the club looks to stabilize after a challenging period.
