2027: Actress Remi Surutu declares support for Tinubu

Nollywood Actress Remi Surutu Backs President Bola Tinubu for 2027 Election
LAGOS, Nigeria — Nollywood actress Remi Surutu has publicly endorsed President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 general election. Her announcement was made during the launch of EKO57, a support group designed to garner public backing for Tinubu’s bid for a second term.
Speaking at the event, Surutu addressed her critics, asserting her long-standing loyalty to Tinubu, which dates back to his tenure as governor of Lagos State.
Reflecting on her experiences during the 2023 elections, she recounted facing public criticism but remained resolute in her support. “A day before the election, people tried to convince me that I was supporting someone responsible for my child’s death. I ignored it and still went out to vote the next day. Your vote is your right; don’t let anyone intimidate you,” she said.
Surutu reaffirmed her commitment to Tinubu, pledging to actively campaign for him. “He has my vote, and I am standing by him. Anyone trying to scare people or discourage them from supporting him should know that I am not afraid,” she stated.
She also praised Tinubu’s dedication to governance, commending his quiet management of national challenges. Surutu highlighted the relentless efforts of Tinubu and his family, remarking, “This man does not sleep. His wife and son are constantly on the move, serving the nation. How many politicians’ families are this engaged?”
Additionally, she suggested that some of the country’s issues stem from the attitudes of Nigerians themselves, while emphasizing her confidence in Tinubu’s ability to lead effectively.
