Again, bandits attack Kwara community

Armed Bandits Attack Oyate Community in Kwara State
Oro-Ago, Kwara – Armed bandits targeted the Oyate community in the Oro-Ago divisional area of Ifelodun Local Government on Monday. This marks the second assault on the community in as many weeks.
According to reports, the bandits previously disrupted Friday prayers for local Muslims, but local security personnel successfully resisted that attack. During Monday’s incident, the attackers resorted to sporadic gunfire in an attempt to intimidate residents, though they did not succeed in causing significant harm or disruption.
Security sources indicate that the assailants crossed over from Kogi State, which shares borders with Kwara, to carry out these violent acts against towns and villages within the state.
Despite the Nigerian Army’s ongoing ‘Operation Savannah Shield,’ aimed at curbing criminal activity in the region, attacks have continued. Authorities remain vigilant as they work to restore safety and security.
