A presidential delegation has departed for Esiele and Yawota villages in the Orire and Ogbomosho Local Government Areas of Oyo State following the recent abduction of 46 students and teachers from local schools.

The delegation is led by Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, and includes National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and Inspector General of Police Tunde Disu. Additional members of the team are General Christopher Musa, Minister of Defence; Joseph Tegbe, Minister of Power; and Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Public Communications.

Dare announced the delegation’s arrival in Ogbomosho on social media platform X on Sunday. He reported that the group is en route to the villages where armed individuals conducted simultaneous raids on Baptist Nursery and Primary Schools, resulting in the seizure of the schoolchildren and staff.

“This area falls within the Orire local government, on the Ogbomosho axis of Oyo State,” Dare stated. He also noted that President Tinubu has initiated a series of coordinated efforts to secure the release of the victims and apprehend the kidnappers.
