Abia speakers loses house of representatives election to Labour Party candidate

Chinedum Orji, Speaker of Abia House of Assembly and son of former Governor of Abia state, T.A Orji, has lost the house of representatives election for Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, to Labour Party (LP) candidate, Obi Aguocha.

 

The Returning Officer, Uma Oke, who announced the result on Monday, February 27, said the Labour party candidate polled 48,199 votes to defeat Mr Orji of the PDP, who scored 35,196.

 

Ogbonnaya Obilor of APC had 4,042 votes, while Ogbonna Abariukwu of APGA got 2,758.
