Actor, Ijebu makes public apology after Ogogo’s death

Nollywood actor Amokade Olatayo, known professionally as Ijebu, has issued a public apology following the death of fellow actor Taiwo Hassan, widely recognized as Ogogo, on Sunday.

In an emotional video shared on Instagram Monday morning, Ijebu expressed deep sorrow and reflected on the fragility of life. He addressed his followers, stating that his heart felt heavy and that he had been awake since early morning.

“I would like to come out straight and say this to all my family, to everyone, also in the movie industry and outside the industry. If there’s anyone that I have offended in one way or the other, please forgive me,” he said.

Ijebu extended his apologies specifically to his colleagues, superiors, and the younger generation within the film industry. “I’m a sinner; please forgive me,” he added.

He emphasized the importance of reconciliation, saying, “I’m making this video to make peace with everyone in order to reduce the burden on my heart. And I’m also here to tell everyone who has offended me that I have forgiven you.”

Reflecting on the nature of existence, Ijebu remarked, “We came to this world with nothing, and we will leave with nothing. We don’t have any reason to be fighting ourselves. Life is too short.”
