Actor Ogogo to be buried on Monday
Nollywood Veteran Taiwo Hassan, Known as Ogogo, to be Laid to Rest on Monday
Ilaro, Ogun State – Taiwo Hassan, the acclaimed Nollywood actor popularly known as Ogogo, will be buried on Monday, August 24, 2026. His interment follows Islamic tradition, taking place less than 24 hours after his passing.
The burial prayer is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion in Ilaro. The announcement was made by the Chief Imam of Ilaro in a statement shared on social media by Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards.
The statement confirmed, “Ogogo to be buried at 10 a.m. tomorrow. INALILAHI WAHINA ILLAEHOLI RAJHIUN. The Ilaro Muslim community wishes to announce the burial of our beloved brother, Alhaji Hassan Taiwo (Ogogo).”
Daily Post reports that the burial announcement was made shortly after news of Ogogo’s death circulated. The actor passed away on Sunday evening after battling stage 4 cancer.
