Nollywood Actress Omotunde Ogundimu Reveals Cancer Battle

Veteran Nollywood actress Omotunde Ogundimu has spoken out about her ongoing struggle with cervical cancer, which she has kept private since her diagnosis in 2025.

In an interview on Tuesday with fellow actress Biola Adebayo on the “Talk to B” podcast, Ogundimu candidly discussed her health challenges and personal life. The single mother of three also shared the difficulties she has faced since the death of her husband in 2012.

Ogundimu expressed her feelings of being sidelined in the film industry and appealed for financial assistance from the public. She acknowledged that while she previously hesitated to seek help, her situation has become critical.

“I’m going through severe pain. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. I don’t know where I got it from. I’m an easy-going person,” she said.

She further explained the financial strain on her family, stating, “My children have also spent all they have. They can no longer care for themselves, but I thank God for blessing me with my children. As it is now, I don’t have any option other than to seek public help.”

Ogundimu called for compassion from the Nigerian community, emphasizing her desire to heal. “I just want to be healed. The pain is severe. Please, Nigerians, have mercy on me,” she pleaded.

In her remarks, she also reflected on her career, noting her challenges in securing roles and reaching out to peers in the industry for assistance. “I don’t usually get jobs. I have called my colleagues in the industry to beg them for movie roles, but none of them did,” she said.

She concluded her appeal with a heartfelt request for forgiveness from anyone she may have offended during her 35 years in the industry, saying, “If I offended anyone in the industry, please forgive me. I use God to beg you.”
