Air Peace Suspends Warri-Lagos Flight After Bird Strike

Air Peace has suspended a scheduled flight from Warri to Lagos following a bird strike that occurred during landing at Osubi Airport in Delta State.

In a statement released Friday, airline spokesperson Osifo-Whiskey Efe detailed that the aircraft involved was swiftly withdrawn from service for safety inspections after the incident.

Preliminary assessments by the airline’s engineers upon the aircraft’s arrival revealed the need for additional examinations of the landing gear, prompting the aircraft’s grounding in accordance with aviation safety protocols.

As a result of the incident, Air Peace has canceled the scheduled return flight from Osubi to Lagos.

To mitigate the impact on affected passengers, the airline has arranged hotel accommodations in Osubi until travel plans can be finalized.

Air Peace expressed regret over the disruption and apologized for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation. The airline emphasized that ensuring passenger safety remains its top priority, stating that operational decisions are strictly guided by safety regulations and industry standards.

While acknowledging the regrettable nature of such disruptions, Air Peace reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high safety standards and thanked passengers for their understanding and cooperation. The airline assured customers that further updates would be provided as the situation develops.
