Aiva Skincare Review | British Beauty Blogger

[unpaid/sample] I don’t very often call in skin care to review (it just arrives!) but Aiva caught my attention as a breath of fresh air in the very muddled market of moisturisers. The minimal ingredient policy ensures that you get what your skin needs rather than a host of fancy sounding things that don’t really do anything but sound as though they might. Aiva Skincare hails from Finland so expect some local ingredients, too.

Aiva

First up, The Cream. Hero ingredients across the range include (north) sea buckthorn extract (containing ProVitamin A), organic cold-pressed Jojoba oil and organic black tea which is high in polyphenols which in turn provide antioxidant protection. On the skin, it’s pleasant – light but supple-making – and it can go around the eyes and of course, on the neck too, which means that it’s a one-shot-for-all product. It’s the perfect thing to go under make up because you won’t find any oiliness. Speaking of The Oil, this is a beautiful cleansing oil which can be multi-tasked and mixed with The Cream to create an intensive mask. I tried this for ten minutes and it was lovely hydrating, skin softening event that left my skin happy and ready to go.

The SPF is also impressive, feeling lightweight under my foundation. Aiva skincare has an SPF20 and and SPF50 but not the SPF30 that we usually look for in the UK. I wondered if that’s more of a regional thing – I would happily wear an SPF20 in winter in the UK to be honest. You’ll find throughout the products, omegas, polyphenols and phytosterols are abundant. The fact that it’s for sensitive skin is better still. Vanillin gives a gentle and natural fragrance but over and above that there is no other fragrance aspect to Aiva Skin. The Duo set comprising The Oil and The Cream is £60 HERE, and the SPF is £35 HERE. As someone who is using a £600 cream currently (to its very last drop since this is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity) a simplified brand that delivers feels fresh and welcome.
