Nollywood Actor Alexx Ekubo Laid to Rest in Abia State

Arochukwu, Abia State — Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo was laid to rest on Thursday following his death on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 after a battle with kidney cancer.

The funeral commenced with a wake-keeping ceremony on Wednesday in Ujari Village, Arochukwu. A formal service was held at Mary Slessor School in Amanagwu Village before his final interment in the family compound.

Colleagues and friends of the late actor gathered to pay tribute to his contributions to the film industry and his philanthropic efforts prior to his passing. Ekubo was known for his roles in numerous Nollywood productions, establishing himself as a prominent figure in Nigerian cinema.
