Alia urges calm as FG proposes pilot ranches in Benue, other states

Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has urged caution and careful consideration in response to the Federal Government’s proposal to establish pilot ranches in several states, including Benue. He emphasized his commitment to representing the interests of the people of the state.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his chief press secretary, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia reaffirmed that every resident of Benue is a vital stakeholder in the collective efforts to enhance the state’s development.

The governor acknowledged the importance of addressing the federal government’s ranching proposal without hastily politicizing the matter or engaging in public outcry. He stated that such issues should not be moved to the streets, churches, or media prematurely.

Kula noted that Governor Alia has consistently aligned his decisions with the best interests of Benue State. He revealed that the governor is actively engaging with the populace and relevant authorities to discuss the proposal.

The chief press secretary further highlighted Governor Alia’s approach to the issue, which emphasizes careful deliberation and strategic judgment. He reiterated that the governor’s priority remains focused on the welfare of Benue and its citizens.

Kula concluded by mentioning that not every situation necessitates an immediate public response, suggesting that patience and thoughtful engagement are essential as the state government evaluates the ranching proposal to determine the most beneficial course of action for Benue.
