Alleged marriage fraud: Roby Ekpo to petition US authorities against Mayowa Lambe

Media Personality to File Petition Against Ex-Wife for Alleged Marriage Fraud

Media figure Roby Ekpo has announced plans to petition the U.S. government regarding his ex-wife, Mayowa Lambe, citing allegations of marriage fraud. This statement comes shortly after Lambe wed another man in the United States while reportedly still married to Ekpo.

In a recent interview that gained significant attention online, Ekpo expressed disbelief at the news of Lambe’s new marriage and detailed his support for her travel, claiming he purchased a flight ticket for her during her latest visit to Nigeria.

In response to Ekpo’s comments, Lambe, through her legal representative, issued a cease-and-desist notice to Ekpo, demanding adherence within 48 hours or she would initiate legal proceedings. Her demands include a public retraction, an apology, and a payment of 100 million Naira in damages, asserting that their marital relationship was “mutually terminated” in May 2025.

Challenging Lambe’s defamation accusations, Ekpo, via his legal counsel at Tap Legal Services, dismissed her financial demands as “excessive, unfounded, and premature.” He maintained that his statements were based on personal experiences and asserted his readiness to defend himself in court.

Furthermore, Ekpo’s legal representation indicated that they plan to submit evidence along with their petition to U.S. authorities, including the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. “Your letter contains an admission of some of our client’s claims, and he reserves the right to include it as evidence in his petition,” the statement noted, emphasizing that Ekpo seeks to protect his rights and interests as necessary.
