Nigerian Comedian Bovi and Actress Nomzamo Recreate Viral Snub Moment at Awards Ceremony

LAGOS, Nigeria — Comedian Bovi Ugboma and South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha drew attention on Saturday when they reenacted a well-known snub involving Nigerian actresses Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham during the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

The pair presented the segment in Lagos, referencing a video that became viral earlier this year. In March 2026, Akindele publicly ignored Abraham at the premiere of Iyabo Ojo’s film, The Return of Arinzo, highlighting ongoing tensions between the two actors.

Subsequent to the incident, both Akindele and Abraham unfollowed each other on social media. Ojo went on to accuse Abraham of breaching a peace agreement established with Akindele.
