APC sweeps Gombe Local Government councils polls
APC Secures All Chairmanship and Councillorship Positions in Gombe Local Elections
GOMBE, Nigeria — The All Progressives Congress (APC) has achieved a clean sweep in the recent local government elections in Gombe State, securing all 24 chairmanship seats and 240 councillorship positions.
The State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) announced the results on Saturday in Gombe, the state capital.
Six political parties participated in the chairmanship elections, including the APC, Youth Party (YP), and the National Rescue Movement (NRM). Other contenders were the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), African Action Congress (AAC), and Democratic Liberation Alliance (DLA).
Details regarding voter turnout and participation rates are yet to be released by GOSIEC.
