Former Big Brother Naija Housemate Discusses Rejection of Proposal

Former Big Brother Naija Season 10 contestant Thelma Lawson addressed her decision to decline a romantic proposal from fellow housemate Rooboy during the reunion show aired on Friday night.

Last year, Rooboy expressed interest in pursuing a relationship with Thelma, but she ultimately rejected his advances. In her explanation, Thelma cited concerns about Rooboy’s lifestyle and appearance, stating that he did not meet her standards for someone she would want around her son.

Thelma remarked, “Rooboy could not even spell correctly. I do not want him around my son. He is too loud, and his tattoos are not the lifestyle I desire. We can be friends, just friends.”

Following the rejection, Thelma alleged that Rooboy was upset and questioned her character, labeling her as “a bitter person.”

In response, Rooboy acknowledged his proposal but insisted that he was not distressed by the outcome. He further accused his fellow housemate Otega of betrayal, suggesting that Otega acted in his own interest during their interactions.

“I told Thelma that I liked her and would like to date her,” Rooboy said. “I was talking to Otega as a brother, not knowing he was also in the picture.”
