Benue community holds mass burial for victims of deadly attack

Mass Burial Held for Victims of Otukpo-Nobi Attack
OTUKPO, Benue State – Residents of the Otukpo-Nobi community gathered on Friday for a mass burial to honor the victims of a deadly attack allegedly carried out by armed herders last Sunday.
The somber ceremony was attended by grieving families, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community members, and other sympathizers, all coming together to pay their final respects to the eight individuals who lost their lives in the assault.
According to reports, the attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday, resulting in multiple injuries and forcing many residents to flee their homes.
During the burial service, mourners expressed their heartbreak over the violence and called for immediate intervention from the Federal Government and security agencies. They urged authorities to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the attacks and to enhance security measures to allow displaced residents to safely return to their community.
As prayers were offered for the souls of the deceased, the community reflected on their profound loss and expressed hopes for lasting peace in the region.
