‘Bola pass Ebola’ – Dino Melaye reveals why Nigerians no longer fear dreaded virus

Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has commented on the recent announcement of an Ebola outbreak in Nigeria, drawing a comparison to the ongoing economic challenges facing the country.

In a post on his verified X account on Sunday, Melaye suggested that the public’s response to the outbreak has been muted, stating that Nigerians appear unfazed due to their prolonged experience with economic hardships. “Nigerians seem not to worry about the announcement of the Ebola outbreak. Everybody no send, because they have been living with Ebola’s senior brother for more than three years now. Bola! Bola pass Ebola,” he wrote.

Melaye, known for his sharp political commentary, implied that the difficulties under President Bola Tinubu’s administration have created a level of resilience among Nigerians, making them less sensitive to alarming news.

The World Health Organization announced the Ebola outbreak in Nigeria last week, marking 12 years since the virus was first identified in the country.
