Atiku Abubakar Becomes Presidential Candidate for African Democratic Congress
ABUJA — Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has been selected as the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The announcement was made late Wednesday during the collation of results at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton.
Tunde Ogbeha, the returning officer for the ADC presidential primary, confirmed Abubakar’s victory in the election.
Abubakar received a total of 1,846,370 votes, surpassing his competitors, former Managing Director of FSB International Bank Mohammed Hayatudeen, who garnered 177,120 votes, and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, who received 504,117 votes.
