BREAKING: Edo court sentences four to death for kidnapping, cultism
The Edo State Special Criminal Court has sentenced four individuals to death by hanging for their involvement in a kidnapping case. The ruling was delivered by Justice Terry Momodu Aigbona on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in Benin City.
During the proceedings, Justice Aigbona expressed deep emotion as he pronounced the sentences, particularly against Isaac Marvelous, the gang leader, who was found guilty on all 11 counts related to the kidnapping incidents.
In addition to the death sentences, the court ordered that the convicts face execution either by hanging or lethal injection. The other individuals convicted alongside Marvelous are Gift Raphael, Wisdom Michael, and Rufus Michael.
Additionally, the court imposed various jail terms on the suspects and directed that the firearms recovered from them be surrendered to the Federal Government as evidence.
