President Nominates Professor Abayomi Fashina for Ambassadorial Role
Abuja — President Bola Tinubu has submitted the name of Professor Abayomi Fashina for Senate confirmation as a non-career ambassador and high commissioner-designate.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio made the announcement during a plenary session on Wednesday.
In his nomination letter, President Tinubu emphasized that the appointment aligns with constitutional provisions governing such nominations and urged the Senate to expedite the confirmation process.
“In accordance with the provisions of Section 121, subsections 2, 3, and 4 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, as amended, I am pleased to present for confirmation by the Senate the nomination of Professor Abayomi Sunday-Fashina as non-career ambassador/high commissioner-designate,” the letter stated.
The president further expressed hope for a prompt consideration and confirmation from the Senate, conveying his highest regard to the legislative body.
