Nigerian Artist Burna Boy Tops Billboard Global 200 Songs Chart

Nigerian Afrobeats artist Damini Ogulu, widely known as Burna Boy, has made history by becoming the first African artist to reach the top of the Billboard Global 200 Songs chart. This milestone was achieved with his collaborative single, “Dai Dai,” featuring Shakira, which has secured the number one position this week.

The track not only topped the Billboard Global 200 but also holds the top spot on the Billboard Global 200 Exclusive U.S. chart. Additionally, “Dai Dai” has risen 12 spots this week, reaching a new high of 55 on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart.

In related news, another Nigerian artist, Tems, has seen success with her single “What You Need,” which climbed five positions to achieve a new peak of 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 after 15 weeks on the chart. “What You Need” recently reached number one on both the Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and the Mediabase Urban radio airplay chart, making Tems the first solo African artist to attain such milestones.
