Nigerian singer Damini Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy, has surpassed fellow artist Wizkid to become the best-selling African musician of all time in the modern streaming era.
Data from ChartMasters, a global music monitoring platform, indicates that Burna Boy has achieved over 14.46 million Equivalent Album Sales globally. Wizkid follows closely behind, with approximately 14.4 million equivalent units sold.
Despite this milestone, Algerian artist Cheb Khaled remains the leader in traditional album sales, boasting an estimated 81 million records sold worldwide.
In addition to this achievement, Burna Boy has made history as the first African artist to exceed 800 million monthly listeners on YouTube Music.
