Celebrity boxing: I’d rather chew grass than bite Portable — Charles Okocha breaks silence

Nollywood Actor Charles Okocha Denies Biting Allegation from Singer Portable
LAGOS—Nollywood actor Charles Okocha has denied allegations made by singer Habeeb Okikiola, commonly known as Portable, claiming that Okocha bit him during their recent boxing match.
Okocha addressed the accusation during a segment on TVC Entertainment on Tuesday, asserting, “I would rather chew grass than bite Portable.” He emphasized that he had been wearing a mouth guard throughout the bout, rendering any biting impossible.
The altercation took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos on Friday, where Okocha was declared the winner after Portable was disqualified for violating match rules by using punches instead of wrestling techniques and subsequently leaving the ring.
Following the event, Portable alleged that Okocha bit him on the back and locked his neck during the fight. However, Okocha dismissed these claims, stating that Portable’s assertions are false.
“Portable has been going around telling people I bit him on the back. I was wearing a mouth guard; how is that even possible? He was just lying,” Okocha said.
He further remarked on the matter, indicating he had no motive to bite Portable: “I don’t want to catch rabies. Have you seen how Portable’s skin looks? Hell no, I wouldn’t do that. He should just accept defeat.”
The ongoing public exchange reflects the heightened tensions following the controversial match.
