You re ridiculous. Petty, actually. How is raising a salary, something you should do every year regardless fuel price, not his money? Is he underperforming? The reason you would post this is because we live in a country that doesn’t have human sympathy or respect other humans. I guess your employees also have to prostrate when they greet you. Oh well, it’s Nigeria, he’ll probably do the same if tables turned. You still need to take a look at yourself though, and why you need all the thank you say, for doing so little for your employee: no medical care, no dental, no retirement plan. If you aren’t testing and goading, you could have sent out a professional memo and given an opportunity to be thanked, instead of using salary for work done like a test for which wretched Nigerian deserves to be embarrassed on social media.
