Chief Imam of Ibadanland leads Islamic prayer for Alabi’s Janazah
Oloye Olalekan Alabi, Senior Ibadan Chief, Buried Following Islamic Rites
Oloye Olalekan Alabi, a senior chief in the Olubadan chieftaincy line and the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, passed away on Saturday in Lagos at the age of 76.
Alabi held the position of Chief Press Secretary under three former governors of Oyo State. His burial took place in accordance with Islamic customs.
The Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abdulganiy Abubakar, led a group of Islamic clerics in performing the Janazah, or funeral prayer, at Alabi’s residence in the Akobo area of Ibadan.
Alabi was laid to rest Sunday afternoon at Eternal Home Cemetery, located along the Ibadan/Oyo Expressway.
