Represented by Rear Admiral Suleiman Dantsoho Ibrahim, Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Abbas highlighted ongoing developmental and welfare initiatives that have improved facilities at the base.
The commissioned projects included new car parks, lawn tennis and volleyball courts, an institutional house for the Executive Officer, and a 30-room accommodation facility for senior personnel.
Rear Admiral Ibrahim praised the leadership exhibited by Tasiu, noting that these advancements reflect a commitment to service delivery. “Your exemplary leadership and quality work have transformed this base,” he said.
He added that recent renovations, such as the multipurpose hall upgrade, have enhanced the working environment for staff, while the upgrade of the corps members’ lodge demonstrates the command’s dedication to the welfare of National Youth Service Corps members.
Ibrahim emphasized that the newly inaugurated projects signify operational readiness and strategic partnerships. He specifically acknowledged Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited for sponsoring the accommodation initiatives, stating that these projects would boost the morale and welfare of naval personnel.
Addressing the gathered officers and staff, Ibrahim stressed the importance of maintaining the new facilities while urging them to uphold professionalism. “Security remains our primary mandate. Do not let the comfort of new facilities dull your edge,” he warned.

Capt. Daniel Beecroft, Executive Officer, expressed gratitude towards Rear Admiral Ibrahim for his support and to Tantita Security Services for their contributions.
