Court grant Peller bail after four days in detention for ‘obstructing’ police

Lagos Magistrate’s Court Grants Bail to TikTok Influencer Peller

A Lagos Magistrate’s Court has granted bail to Nigerian TikTok influencer, Peller, who was detained for obstructing police officers. On Tuesday, the court set bail at 500,000 naira after Peller spent four days in police custody.

According to reports, Peller’s arrest occurred on Friday during a confrontation with police in the Lekki area of Lagos State. He was subsequently moved to the Ikeja Police Station, where he faced arraignment alongside co-defendant Bello Oladipo on three charges, including resisting police and breaching the public peace.

The specific charges against Peller include obstructing police officers in the performance of their duties, conduct likely to disturb public peace, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

A viral video released prior to his arrest showed Peller alleging harassment by police officers for driving a tinted car without a plate number. He claimed that officers physically accosted him, brandished a firearm, and demanded his arrest, despite his assertion that he had recently purchased the vehicle.
