Afrobeats artist Davido has drawn ire on social media following his absence from the wedding of his associate and billionaire music executive, Soso Soberekon, held last weekend in Warri, Delta State.
Reports indicate that Davido did not attend the ceremony and neglected to acknowledge the couple on his social media platforms. Instead, he shared posts about a trip to Dubai with his crew and updates regarding the upcoming governorship election in Osun State.
This absence sparked a wave of criticism from Nigerian social media users. While some fans defended Davido, suggesting that he may have been out of the country or occupied with professional commitments, others voiced their discontent.
Comedian DeeOne expressed his disappointment, stating, “With all that Soso Soberekon has done for Davido, he should have been more supportive at that wedding.” DeeOne further criticized Davido’s lack of engagement with the event, saying that he should have at least issued a congratulatory message.
Ossai Ovie Success, the Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, shared his disappointment on Instagram, stating, “Davido is ungrateful to Soso. I’m disappointed in Davido and Chioma for not attending the wedding. Soso has done so much for Davido in recent years.”
