Nigerian Social Media Influencer Denies Financial Support from Singer Davido
LAGOS, Nigeria — VeryDarkMan, a Nigerian social media personality, has clarified misconceptions regarding his relationship with singer Davido, stating that he did not receive financial assistance from the artist for his growth or his non-governmental organization (NGO).
According to DAILY POST, the pair became acquainted in October 2023 when Davido invited VeryDarkMan to Lagos. During that visit, VeryDarkMan expressed gratitude for the hospitality he received, sharing a video that showcased the accommodations arranged by Davido.

However, following a fallout nearly three years after their initial connection, VeryDarkMan retracted his earlier statements about Davido’s support, indicating that public perceptions were often exaggerated for entertainment.
“I never benefited a dime from Davido,” he insisted, clarifying that he covered his own travel and lodging expenses during his trip. VeryDarkMan stated, “Any time I mention Davido, some people say, ‘After all, what Davido has done for you,’ but that’s not accurate.”
He emphasized that he never solicited help from Davido for his NGO, asserting, “I have never asked him to contribute.” He added, “Ask David if I’ve ever collected even N1,000 from him.”
The influencer’s remarks aim to set the record straight amidst ongoing speculation about his association with the renowned singer.
