Delta govt splashes N2bn on 2026 pilgrimage as citizens cry over hardship

The State Commissioner for the Bureau of Special Duties, Erijo Etacherure, announced in Asaba that the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) will begin screening prospective pilgrims on November 11. This screening will take place at the Christian Association of Nigeria Secretariat in Asaba.
Etacherure emphasized that individuals who have collected a registration form must complete and return it no later than November 9. The completed forms should be submitted to the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The commissioner further clarified that the NCPC will determine the eligibility of applicants. He also issued a warning to those who have previously participated in state-sponsored trips to Israel or Jordan, noting that such individuals should refrain from applying, as they will be disqualified.
