Afrobeats Artist Davido Urges Emerging Musicians to Stay Grounded in Faith
Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, widely recognized as Davido, has emphasized the importance of maintaining one’s spiritual values amid rising fame. During a recent interview on Kiss Xtra, Davido advised aspiring musicians to remain connected to God as their careers progress.
His comments come in the wake of various celebrities, particularly those of the Christian faith, revealing that they distanced themselves from their religious practices after achieving success in the music industry.
Davido stressed the significance of self-belief and dedication to one’s craft. “My advice for up-and-coming artists is to first of all, believe in yourself,” he said. “I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and from the people around me.”
He further urged these artists to prioritize their passion for music while keeping faith at the forefront of their lives. “There are so many distractions that can make you forget he is the reason you are here,” Davido cautioned, highlighting the challenges that come with success in the industry.
