Eid al-Adha: Gov Lawal seeks continued prayers against insecurity

Zamfara Governor Calls for Prayers for Peace During Eid al-Adha
GUSAU, Nigeria — Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has urged residents to intensify prayers for peace and stability in the state and throughout Nigeria as Muslims observe Eid al-Adha.
In a statewide broadcast on Wednesday, Lawal extended his congratulations to Muslims celebrating the festival, which honors the themes of sacrifice, obedience, and devotion as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.
He specifically called on residents and Hajj pilgrims to pray for enduring peace, security, and progress within the state.
The governor highlighted the state’s ongoing successes in combating banditry, noting that these efforts have facilitated the gradual return of displaced communities to their ancestral homes. He referenced the recent resettlement of thousands of internally displaced persons in Fegin Kanawa Village in the Gusau Local Government Area, marking the end of more than a year of displacement.
Lawal reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safe return of these individuals and maintaining efforts to restore peace in affected areas. He stressed the importance of collective prayers and community support in ongoing security and peace-building initiatives throughout Zamfara.
Wishing Muslims a peaceful Eid al-Adha celebration, Lawal later joined worshippers for Eid prayers at the Gusau Central Eid Prayer Ground.
