Ekiti Govt dissolves okada riders’ executives, appoints caretaker committee
The Ekiti State Government has officially dissolved the executive council of the Okada Riders Association, affecting all levels of the organization. In its place, a 10-member caretaker committee has been appointed to oversee the association’s operations.
The decision to dissolve the council, effective immediately, follows a recommendation from the association’s Board of Trustees. Hon. K.K. Ajobiewe, the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, issued the announcement in a formal statement.
Kunle Asaolu will lead the newly formed caretaker committee as its chair. Adelegan Olowuro Sunday has been appointed as Deputy Chairman, and Alade Gbenga will serve as Secretary.
The committee includes additional members Saka Salami, Ajibade Ojo, Ademola Omotuyi, Ayodeji Jegede, Lukman Saka, Joseph Emmanuel, Oloruntola Idowu, and Agboola Emmanuel.
The inauguration of the caretaker committee is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The event will take place at the Ministry of Transportation, located in the Old Governor’s Office in Ado-Ekiti, and is subject to further directives from the government.
