Ekiti police arraign siblings for stealing N45,000 chicken

Two brothers, Abraham Adeola (18) and Segun Adeola (25) have been arraigned before an Ekiti State Magistrates’ Court, Ado Ekiti District, for allegedly stealing chicken worth N45,000.

 

Appearing in court on Tuesday, police prosecutor Celeb Leramo revealed that the defendants committed the alleged offence in the Oke Bola area of Ado Ekiti on November 4.

 

Leramo said; 

 

The defendants, at around 2pm in Ado Ekiti that day, did conspire to commit felony to wit, stealing. On the same date and place in the magisterial district, the defendants did steal the three boilers belonging to one Akogun Yemisi.

“The offence committed is punishable under Section 421, 302 Laws of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021.”

 

The Magistrate, Saka Afunso, granted the defendants bail of N20,000 each with one surety in like sum after the defendants’ lawyer, Gbenga Ariyibi, promised to provide credible surety if they are granted one. 

 

The case was adjourned till Friday, November 10, for hearing.
