Chelsea Announces Departure of Four Players

Chelsea Football Club has confirmed that four players will depart at the conclusion of their contracts on June 30. The announcement was made via a statement released on the club’s official X account on Wednesday.

The club detailed its retained and released list following the end of the 2025/26 season.

Defender Brodi Hughes will leave the club after a notable 13-year tenure within the Chelsea Academy. Hughes joined the program as an Under-8 player and progressed through the ranks, spending the previous season on loan at AFC Wimbledon in League One.

Richard Olise is also set to exit after a decade with the organization. Olise joined Chelsea at age nine, participating in various youth levels before being included in the first-team squad for the UEFA Conference League match against Astana during the 2024/25 season.

Midfielder Sam Rak-Sakyi will part ways with Chelsea after making four appearances for the first team. He joined the Academy at eight and traveled through the youth system at Cobham, earning caps for England at the youth level. Rak-Sakyi made his debut in the UEFA Conference League against Noah during the 2024/25 season.

Jimi Tauriainen is the fourth player confirmed to leave. Tauriainen joined Chelsea in 2020 and was listed among the first-team substitutes for the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool in 2024.
