EPL: Why Chelsea beat Man Utd 2-0 – Xabi Alonso
Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso discussed the pivotal half-time strategy that led his team to a 2-0 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.
The win marked a significant comeback for the Blues, who had earlier been eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Liverpool. With this victory, Chelsea secured three points and climbed into the top four of the league standings.
The match was closely contested in the first half, with both teams generating few scoring opportunities. However, goals from Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer in the second half ultimately sealed the win for Alonso’s squad.
“We are happy. The game had different moments. The first half was close: few chances for both teams,” Alonso told Sky Sports following the match.
