Former APC woman leader killed in Bauchi

Bauchi State, Nigeria – Mrs. Jamima J. Dutse, the former Zonal Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi South, was killed by unidentified assailants at her residence. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, when the attackers reportedly targeted her home before fleeing the scene.

In response to her death, the Take-It-Back (TIB) Movement, Bauchi State chapter, condemned the act, calling it a “senseless” act of violence that undermines the peace and security of the region.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Nazif Bashi, the coordinator of TIB in Bauchi State, expressed condolences to Dutse’s family, friends, and associates. The group urged security agencies to conduct an immediate investigation into the circumstances of her killing.

TIB called on the Bauchi State Police Command, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other relevant security bodies to identify and apprehend those responsible for the crime. They also emphasized the need for transparent communication from security agencies, including regular updates to the victim’s family and the public regarding the investigation’s progress.

“Justice must not only be done; it must be seen to be done,” the group stated, insisting on the prosecution of those responsible for the murder.

Additionally, TIB urged the Bauchi State Government and security authorities to enhance security measures, surveillance, and intelligence gathering throughout Bauchi metropolis and surrounding local government areas.
