Four Young Men from Yobe State Die in Algeria
Four young men from Tsangai village in the Moyori Ward of Yusufari Local Government Area, Yobe State, have died in Algeria while seeking employment opportunities.
The deaths were confirmed by Hon. Adam Jibrin, the Executive Chairman of Yusufari Local Government, in a condolence statement released on Tuesday, September 28, 2026.
In his statement, Jibrin expressed his deep sorrow over the loss, stating that the community is united in mourning for the deceased.
“It is with profound sadness and a deeply heavy heart that I received the heartbreaking news of the passing of four promising young men,” he said.
The individuals had traveled to Algeria in hopes of securing a better livelihood for themselves and their families. Jibrin called their untimely deaths an “irreplaceable loss” to their families and the broader community.
The chairman extended his condolences to the parents, siblings, and friends of the deceased and offered prayers for eternal rest for the four men. He also expressed hope for strength for their families in this difficult time.
Additionally, Jibrin urged for the safety of young people traveling in search of opportunities and called for divine protection to safeguard communities against further tragedies.
