Frederick Leonard Drags Stanley Ontop To Court Over Alleged Defamation

Nollywood Actor Frederick Leonard Files Defamation Suit Against Stanley Ontop
Delta State—Nollywood actor Frederick Leonard has initiated legal proceedings against filmmaker and media personality Stanley Ontop, alleging defamation of character. The petition was submitted to the Delta State Police Command on January 28, 2026, through Leonard’s legal representatives, Uche Okoro & Co.
In his complaint, Leonard accuses Ontop of making repeated statements that he claims have undermined his reputation over a span of more than two years. The actor contends that these assertions have perpetuated a negative public image of him, adversely affecting both his personal and professional life.
Leonard made the petition public via his Instagram account on Monday, emphasizing his intention to pursue the matter through legal channels. He warned that those making allegations against him should be prepared to provide substantiating evidence.
“I’m coming for you,” Leonard wrote, addressing Ontop directly. “If you claim or allege, you must prove with evidence. You have been served, and the law will take its course to the fullest extent. If this continues, others will also face similar legal actions.”
The case highlights ongoing concerns within the entertainment industry regarding the impact of public statements on individual reputations and the legal ramifications that may follow.
