Ogun State FRSC Convicts 25 Traffic Offenders in Mobile Court Session

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ogun State Sector Command convened a mobile court session on Wednesday at the RS2.2 Sector Command headquarters, resulting in the conviction of 25 traffic offenders.

The violations addressed during this session included overloading, improper use of seat belts, issues with speed limit devices, and various offenses related to driver’s licenses, vehicle registration, and number plates.

Her Worship, Chief Magistrate O.T. Odubanjo, presided over the proceedings, which aimed to enforce road discipline and reduce significant safety breaches on key routes within the state.

According to Odunsi Afolabi, the command’s Public Relations Officer, a total of 46 traffic offenses were processed, with no offenders receiving prison sentences.

Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, the State Sector Commander, highlighted the importance of the mobile court as a crucial element of the command’s ongoing enforcement strategy to lower the incidence of road traffic accidents and fatalities. He noted the zero-discharge rate as evidence of the FRSC’s effective enforcement and the judiciary’s dedication to accountability for traffic violations.

“This exercise serves as a stern reminder to motorists that the Command remains vigilant in its ‘Zero Tolerance’ approach to road traffic infractions to ensure the safety of lives and property,” Ogunjobi stated.
