Gombe State Governor Appoints 19 Permanent Secretaries
GOMBE, Nigeria — Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State announced on Monday the appointment of 19 permanent secretaries to fill recent vacancies within the State Civil Service. This move aims to enhance the administrative capacity of various ministries, ensuring effective and efficient service delivery.
The Head of the State Civil Service, Prof. Mu’azu Shehu, highlighted the importance of these appointments in light of a shortage of permanent secretaries and the recent restructuring of state ministries. “Filling these vacancies is crucial for providing competent administrative leadership in the affected ministries,” Shehu stated.
The new appointees were selected from 11 local government areas, taking into account factors such as geographical representation, professional experience, and the specific needs of the ministries. Shehu noted that the selections were based on the candidates’ suitability, competence, and proven records of satisfactory performance.
“The officers were carefully assessed and found suitable to occupy the positions, having acquired relevant experience and demonstrated commitment and professionalism,” he added, emphasizing their clean service records as a strong foundation for their promotions.
Governor Yahaya expects that the newly appointed permanent secretaries will leverage their experience and professional skills to contribute substantively to the administration’s goals of creating a responsive, efficient, and results-oriented civil service. All appointments are effective immediately.
