Gospel singer, Bajowa threatens legal action against Best over alleged copyright infringement

Gospel Singer Goke Bajowa Threatens Legal Action Over Copyright Infringement

Veteran gospel artist Prince Goke Bajowa has issued a warning to fellow musician Boye Best, alleging copyright infringement regarding Bajowa’s song “Iwo Ko Lodami.”

In a video released via Instagram on Sunday, Bajowa accused Best of performing his song at various events without proper acknowledgment of its original ownership. He described the situation as “misleading and unfair,” emphasizing that Best has benefited from the song’s popularity while failing to recognize its true creator.

“This is a final warning to you, Boye Best,” Bajowa stated in the video. “You have continued to use my song indiscriminately across multiple platforms, despite previous communications clarifying that you do not own the rights to this work.”

Bajowa reiterated that while he does not prohibit Best from performing the song, it is imperative that Best acknowledge him as the original owner in all future performances. He warned that failure to comply with this request would prompt him to take legal action to protect his rights as the creator.

The situation highlights ongoing concerns within the music industry regarding copyright and acknowledgment practices among artists.
