Gov Soludo declares war against fake pastors

Anambra Governor Calls for Support in Fight Against Fake Pastors

AWKA, Nigeria — Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has urged citizens to assist the government in its efforts to combat the activities of fraudulent pastors within the state.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr. Law Mefor, Soludo emphasized the need for public vigilance against individuals posing as clergymen while engaging in illegal activities.

“Residents are encouraged to report any credible information regarding pastors or churches associated with criminal behaviors such as extortion, fraud, or any actions that threaten community safety,” Mefor stated. He highlighted that the Soludo administration has implemented strategies aimed at addressing these issues directly.

The commissioner further noted that this initiative is part of a broader campaign to restore order in Anambra’s religious and traditional practices. He assured residents that all information shared would be treated confidentially to safeguard the identities of informants.

“Let us work together to reclaim our state from those misusing religion for criminal purposes,” Mefor added.

The governor’s call for community involvement reflects a commitment to enhancing public safety and promoting integrity within the religious sector.
