It’s a note combination that is supposed to remind us of Corsican beaches and there’s definitely an ozonic or marine note in there as well as a solar touch. It kind of did remind me a bit of snuggling under a towel on the lounger – that moment of heat and content all at once but I’ve never been to Corsica so I’m hopeful it’s any beach thereabouts ;-).
The way it translates to winter is the snuggle effect – it’s every bit as at home with you under a blanket as it would be on a beach because there is so much warmth to it. It’s a comforting scent that needs heat around it to be truly at home but sun is not necessary – the radiator/fire will do just as well to bring about that feeling of contentment. John Lewis had this on offer but I think it’s passed now – I’ve looked elsewhere and can’t find it at anything other than the usual RRP of £102 HERE. The bottles now are refillable and all the Aqua Allegoria Forte fragrances contain more than 90% natural origin. Who knew that beetroot alcohol would end up in perfume! But it has. Guerlain has really set about becoming more sustainable and I’ve seen their transformation over the past couple of years – it’s impressive.
