Kebbi State Command Welcomes New NSCDC Commandant
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kebbi State has officially welcomed Commandant Hassan Mohammed Maidamma as its new state commandant. Maidamma, the 17th individual to hold the position, took office on October 26 following the retirement of his predecessor, Commandant K.A. Alkamawa.
A handover ceremony was held at the command headquarters in Birnin Kebbi. In his farewell address, Alkamawa expressed gratitude to the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the Kebbi State Government, and various security agencies for their support throughout his tenure. He encouraged these entities to extend the same collaboration to Maidamma.
Upon his appointment, Maidamma acknowledged the trust placed in him by the Corps’ national leadership and committed to enhancing service delivery. His administration aims to prioritize professionalism, operational effectiveness, and intelligence gathering, while fostering collaboration with other security agencies and local communities to tackle security challenges.
Maidamma reiterated the command’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property, securing critical national assets and infrastructure, managing disasters, and overseeing private guard companies. He emphasized the importance of personnel welfare, continuous training, and operational efficiency.
Additionally, he urged officers to maintain discipline, vigilance, professionalism, and to uphold human rights and the rule of law. Maidamma also called on residents to provide timely and credible information to security agencies to aid in crime prevention and bolster security efforts across the state.
