Afrobeats Artist Ruger Reflects on Missed Opportunity in Nollywood
Afrobeats singer Ruger has shared insights into a significant missed opportunity from his past involving Nollywood actress and producer Funke Akindele. In a recent interview with VJ Adams, Ruger expressed regret over not participating in one of Akindele’s popular films.
Ruger explained that he had noticed Akindele’s appreciation for his music and intended to reach out to her via social media. However, he later discovered that she had sent him a message regarding a potential movie role. Unfortunately, he did not see the communication until after the opportunity had passed.
“It still pains me,” Ruger said, reflecting on the missed chance. He highlighted his interest in acting, stating, “I wouldn’t mind going into the movie industry.” Despite this interest, Ruger acknowledged that acting could be challenging for him. “I think acting would be difficult for me because I don’t like shooting. But I would get into character if it’s interesting,” he added.
