How my school father initiated me to homosexuality - Suspect arrested after he allegedly sodomised teenagers in Edo speaks

A 30-year-old graduate of Auchi Poly, Auchi, Edo State, Chinedu Ikwuagwu, has narrated how his “school father” introduced him to homosexuality.

Ikwuagwu disclosed this Tuesday, Feb. 13, in an interview with newsmen, while being paraded with eight other suspects by the Edo State Police Command.

The suspect, who was arrested for allegedly having anal intercourse with a victim identified as Wisdom, said he stopped being gay after his graduation.

He told newsmen: “I would not deny that I am gay, but it is not something I do often. It was my school father who introduced me to being gay while I was at Auchi Poly. But I have since stopped it after graduation.

“I have a serious girlfriend (fiancee), and I don’t know how it happened. But I thank God I am still alive. I want to apologise to my fiancee and ask that she forgive me.”

The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, had told newsmen that the suspect was arrested by the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of the command.

He said he was arrested by the operatives while investigating a complaint by Wisdom that the suspect allegedly hypnotised him and forcefully had anal sex with him.

Nwabuzor also added that the victim alleged that the suspect lured male teenagers with money and had anal sex with them.

According to the police spokesman, the suspect made a statement, confessed to the crime, and is helping with the police investigation.

He added that other paraded suspects were arrested for alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, attempted murder, impersonation, and unlawful possession of firearms, among others.

Nwabuzor explained that eight suspects were arrested, while one kidnapped victim was rescued.

He listed items recovered from the suspects as including one military camouflage uniform, 153 cartridges, six locally-made cut-to-size guns, and two double-barrel guns.

Others are three pump-action guns, six rounds of 308 magnum ammunition, 10 rounds of 375 H and H magnum ammunition calibre, and one 12 gauge Remington gun.
